Brooklyn & Laddie are a bonded pair looking for their forever home. Twice the Love, One Forever Home!
Meet Brooklyn and Laddie, two beautiful senior Rough Collies with hearts full of love and a very special bond!
At 9 and 10 years young, Brooklyn and Laddie are looking for something wonderfully simple: a loving home where they can spend their golden years together, surrounded by kindness, comfort, and plenty of affection.
Brooklyn, a 9-year-old, 55-pound female Rough Collie, is an absolute sweetheart. She is affectionate, friendly, and happiest when she’s receiving the love and attention she deserves.
Laddie, a 10-year-old, 80-pound neutered male Rough Collie, is equally loving and full of personality! He can get a little excited and playful with his mouth when he’s especially happy, but there’s no aggression behind his enthusiasm. He’s simply a big, lovable gentleman who enjoys being close to his people.
Before coming into rescue, Brooklyn and Laddie spent much of their lives outdoors. Despite that, they’ve adjusted remarkably well to living inside and have been respectful houseguests. They’re still working on their house-training and crate-training skills, but they’re learning what it means to enjoy the comforts of home.
Both dogs get along well with other dogs and cats, and we believe they would do best in a home with children ages 13 and older. A fenced yard is preferred, giving them a safe place to enjoy the outdoors.
You may notice that their beautiful Collie coats look a little different. Both were shaved repeatedly throughout their lives, and some of their coat may never fully return. But we think their beauty goes far beyond their coats!
A Special Note About Brooklyn’s Health
Brooklyn has a heart murmur and is receiving veterinary care through MedVet. She has recently started medication for her heart and blood pressure, and her veterinary team will reassess her condition before determining whether spaying is appropriate. Her future family will need to be comfortable providing ongoing veterinary care and following her cardiologist’s recommendations.
Both Brooklyn and Laddie also receive a daily glucosamine supplement.
Their Perfect Forever Home
What makes this pair so special is how much love they have to give. After spending so many years primarily outdoors, they deserve the opportunity to experience everything a loving home can offer: soft beds, gentle hands, companionship, and the security of knowing they belong.
Brooklyn and Laddie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. We aren’t looking for perfection in their future family. We’re looking for patience, compassion, and someone who understands just how rewarding it can be to open their heart to senior dogs.
Adoption availability: To be determined, pending Brooklyn’s medical evaluation and clearance.
If you’ve ever considered opening your home to a senior Collie, perhaps these two wonderful souls are the ones you’ve been waiting for.
Two Collies. One inseparable bond. A lifetime of love still left to give.
If Brooklyn & Laddie strike your fancy and you are ready to help them continue to be the best Collie citizens ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don’t wait! And if they are not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application.
