About Asher
Meet Asher — a young Collie boy with a playful spirit, a deep love for his people, and a heart that is ready for a fresh start. Like many rescue dogs, Asher’s past is a bit uncertain, but what we do know is that he has quickly shown himself to be affectionate, intelligent, and eager to connect with the people around him.
Asher thrives on attention and companionship. He loves to play, enjoys being involved in everyday life, and is happiest when he is near his people. He can be a little bouncy and enthusiastic, often greeting you with jumps and excitement, but it all comes from a place of joy and affection. He is also working on his leash manners and will benefit from continued structure and training.
In foster care, Asher has done well with people and has shown a playful side with Casey, another Collie in rescue. The two enjoy running and playing together when food, toys, and treats are not involved. Asher has shown food aggression toward other dogs, so careful management is important. However, he has not shown food aggression toward people, and his foster has been able to safely handle his food, water, and toys without issue.
Because of his needs, Asher would do best in an only-dog home where he can receive consistent guidance, structure, and plenty of one-on-one attention. Older children or teenagers who understand boundaries would likely be the best fit for him. With the right environment, patience, and continued training, Asher has the potential to become a deeply loyal and devoted companion.
