Here’s what Sadie’s foster has to say about her!
When Sadie came to us, she was very timid and confused. After one full day, we could tell she was getting acclimated to us, including our puppy and our small children.
Sadie is patient, gentle, and aims to please. Her eyes, ears, and long snout follow me everywhere. She has mastered many commands, including ‘sit,’ ‘down,’ ‘stay,’ ‘leave it,’ and ‘shake.’ We are working diligently on ‘come,’ ‘heel,’ ‘off,’ and ‘sit pretty.’ Sadie is house- and crate-trained. At first, she wasn’t walking well on a leash, but after a few walks around the neighborhood, she is now walking without pulling and thoroughly enjoys the experience.
Sadie is a quick study. She LOVES running and playing with her neighbor dog friends. She is not food aggressive, nor does she attempt to steal people food. If overly excited, Sadie will jump up on you, but a quick “sit” command usually does the trick.
Sadie does enjoy being on the couch but we are okay with that. At her recent vet visit, she has gained 10 lbs since her previous visit, weighing in at almost 50 pounds. Sadie has taken a few car rides, and she doesn’t seem to mind them at all. If you can’t find Sadie in the house, check her crate. She values her rest with the door wide open.
Sadie will make a great dog for a family who can give her walks, has kids, and other dogs (we haven’t seen her with a cat yet).
