About Nick

Nick is a friendly and affectionate collie. He is a medium energy dog and is happy being a couch potato, playing in the yard, or going on walks. Nick loves nothing more than getting attention from people and has made friends with everyone he has met. While he as good house manners, he sometimes tries to jump on the couch or into your lap to receive more pets, but will get down if asked and accept pets from the floor as well.

He is smart and is learning basic commands. He does well on a leash but prefers to frequently stop and sniff all the interesting things on the ground.  He does well in a crate during the day when his foster parents are working and does not seem to have any separation anxiety. Nick gets along well with the resident collies in his foster home, however, he will resource guard high value toys or treats from other animals (he does not resource guard with people).  He does not bother the cats in his foster home. Nick is a well adjusted dog and is not bothered by things like vacuum cleaners, cars, or other noises. Like most collies, he can be vocal when he wants attention or is alerting you to someone at the door.

Nick would make an excellent companion for someone looking for a classic Lassie dog.

Nick is a very picky eater and will need someone who is willing to make accommodations for his diet.
