About Lindsey
Lindsey has been with us for around 3 weeks now and it has been an absolute pleasure to foster her. At first, I couldn’t believe that she was only 2 years old due to her rough coat and skin and her gentle, old soul personality. However, since she has had the chance to rest and receive proper care, she is starting to show her true beauty. It’s clear that Lindsey has faced many challenges in her life, but her resilience is truly inspiring. She is an affectionate and sweet dog who is always grateful for love and attention.
Although Lindsey is not formally obedience trained at this point, she is well-behaved on leashes, is potty trained, and has good house manners. She does love to be comfortable and would likely try to curl up on a couch if given the chance. Her favorite activities include spending time in the kitchen with you while you cook, playing and wrestling with her foster brother Adler, playing with our 7-year-old daughter, getting belly rubs, and cuddling close whenever she can. Lindsey is not a high-energy dog, but she is happy to join in playtime with people and her foster brother when the opportunity arises.
There have been a few mishaps, such as Lindsey getting into the trash once and displaying impressive fence-jumping skills. We have had to make sure the kitchen trash is secured and keep an eye on her in the yard to prevent any escapes. Despite her fence-jumping ability, Lindsey is not a major flight risk and will come when called. She is also somewhat protective of her food and toys while eating and playing, but she does not guard them from people. It is important to be mindful of this when introducing her to other dogs, as she may not do well with an alpha female dog. However, Lindsey gets along well with our two cats.
Physically, Lindsey is making great progress. Her skin is improving and it will take some time for her coat to fully grow back. She recently underwent a laparoscopic spay procedure, so her belly and sides are shaved at the moment. Her current photos do not do her justice, as she has a way of winning over the hearts of everyone she meets. Whoever is lucky enough to have her in their forever home will be truly blessed.
