About Lady

Hello, my name is Lady. And that is the perfect name to describe me. I’m very gentle and calm. I was very nervous and timid when I came to my new foster home, but now I feel completely comfortable and trusting of my foster family. I do still get a little jumpy with loud noises, but I’m much better with that now. I am perfectly content to lay on the floor next to my people. But occasionally I like to sit right beside them either on the couch or in the bed. Although I like it best when my people are near me, I do great when they’re gone to work or sleeping. Don’t let my calm nature fool you, I like to get a little feisty and play on occasion as well. I rarely bark, except during playtime. I do not to go potty in the house, my foster parents have just taken me out on a regular schedule and I do just fine with that. I don’t really like crates, but since I’m  so well behaved I don’t need them anyway. I’ve had limited exposure to children, but I did well with an eight-year-old girl who helped to groom me. So I would prefer older children in my new family. My foster home has three cats and a bunch of chickens. One of the cats is my new best friend. We play and sleep together most often. But, if they run from me I love to chase them, I think it’s a game. I did have a problem with 120 pound dog, but I really enjoy the neighbors pitbull. We run back-and-forth along the fence line together. So I think I would be OK with other dogs as long as they were not aggressive or too large. And of course we would have to be introduced slowly. My home is my safe space, and having a fenced in yard makes me feel more secure. I get nervous when I’m out of my comfort zone right now, but if you work with me slowly I’m sure I will improve.  Although I really grown to love my foster home, I am looking forward to finding my forever home
